A large fire has been reported tonight (Sunday) on Divis Mountain.
The incident was first mentioned on social media shortly after 10pm, with images being shared of a growing blaze on top of the Belfast hills.
Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service told BelfastLive: “We have five appliances on the scene – the reason for five is so that three can perform water relay and bring water to the fire.
“Currently there is an area of around 100 square metres alight.”
Commenters on social media said that the area has been dry recently, with one person posting: “It’s spreading dangerously fast.”
We do not yet know how the fire started.
