A Belfast music venue has announced that they will be shutting their doors until Monday as a number of their staff have been asked to self-isolate.
The Second Fiddle, a new Irish music venue located on Waring Street in Belfast’s city centre, made the announcement this morning.
In a statement sharing on social media, the bar said: “Unfortunately, folks, we have to close our doors for a number of days. A number of our staff have been contacted by the NHS covid app and asked to self-isolate because they have been in close contact with someone that has contracted covid. This means we don’t have enough staff to run the business and we need to close until Monday 2nd August.

The news comes as more and more people throughout the UK are being ‘pinged’ by the NHS track & trace app and being asked to self-isolate.
With the rise in cases, alongside the reopening of businesses throughout the UK, the number of people being pinged by the app has risen dramatically the last few weeks.
This has led to disruption for businesses in a number of sectors – particularly the hospitality sector – with some describing the issue as a ‘pingdemic’.
